In conjunction with CHARACTER COUNTS! Week — October 19-25 — the 2014 annual CHARACTER COUNTS! in Glenview poster/video contest is underway. Glenview students are challenged to visually depict one of the Six Pillars of Character (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship).
In two grade categories — kindergarten through 2nd and 3rd through 5th — students are asked to create 8 1/2-by-11 inch posters.
Students in 6th through 8th grades are asked to create videos of between one and two minutes.
Students at Springman, Attea and Maple middle schools will get information from their teachers on how to upload contest entries. Other Glenview students who wish to enter the video contest should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to receive instructions for uploading entries.
Deadline for all entries — poster and video — is 5 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2014. First-, second- and third-place winners will receive prize awards courtesy of Kiwanis Club of Glenview-Northbrook, to be presented at the October 21, 2014 Village Board of Trustees meeting.
