Show us your character

In conjunction with CHARACTER COUNTS! Week — October 16-22 — the 2016 annual CHARACTER COUNTS! in Glenview poster/video contest is underway. Glenview students are challenged to visually depict one or more of the Six Pillars of Character (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship).

In two grade categories — kindergarten through 2nd and 3rd through 5th — students are asked to create 8 1/2-by-11 inch posters.

Students in 6th through 8th grades are asked to create videos of between one and two minutes.

Students at most middle schools will get information from their teachers on how to upload contest entries. Other Glenview students who wish to enter the video contest should send an email to to receive instructions for uploading entries into a Dropbox.

Deadline for the poster entries is Monday, September 26, 2016. Videos must be uploaded by 11:59 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2016. First-, second- and third-place winners will receive prize awards courtesy of Kiwanis Club of Glenview-Northbrook, to be presented at the October 18, 2015 Village Board of Trustees meeting.
