2020 Poster-Video Contest
The 2020 annual CHARACTER COUNTS! in Glenview Poster/Video Contest will run from November 2 to November 30, 2020.
Glenview students are challenged to visually depict one or more of the Six Pillars of Character (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship). It would be appropriate this year to reflect on the pillars in regards to the heroes in our community who have supported us during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
In two grade categories — kindergarten through 2nd, and 3rd and 4th — students are asked to create 8 1/2-by-11 inch posters. New this year is that a pdf of the poster should be uploaded to a central online location. The upload form is accessible through Google Docs, so the student or parent must have or create an account.
Students in 5th through 8th grades are asked to create videos of between one and two minutes. They will be judged in two categories: 5th and 6th grades and 7th and 8th grades. New this year is that the video should be uploaded to a central online location. The upload form is accessible through Google Docs, so the student or parent must have or create an account.
Deadline for the poster and video entries is 11:59 p.m. Monday, November 30. First-, second- and third-place winners in each age category will receive prize awards courtesy of Kiwanis Club of Glenview-Northbrook. Winners will be recognized at the January 19, 2021 Village Board of Trustees meeting.
